Save the Wader is a campaign to raise awareness about the plight of waders, a vulnerable species of bird whose numbers are in sharp decline in the lowlands and some parts of the uplands of Great Britain.

We believe that all species of bird are important; but we are concerned that the plight of ground nesting birds, waders in particular, has been overshadowed by high profile campaigns to promote more spectacular birds. .The RSPB’s recognition that threatened species of ground nesting birds are at risk from a range of predators is therefore particularly welcomed.
